How Grain Records Your Meetings

Everything you need to know about how Grain records your meetings.

Updated over a month ago

Grain offers flexible meeting recording options, making it easy to capture, share, and manage key moments from your virtual conversations. Here's everything you need to know about how Grain records your meetings.

1. Automatic Meeting Recording

Grain can automatically join and record your meetings when enabled. Here’s how it works:

  • Calendar Integrations: Grain can connect with your calendar (Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook) to automatically join and record scheduled meetings.

  • Auto-Record Settings: You can customize which meetings Grain records by adjusting your auto-record settings. For example, you can choose to have Grain record all, some, or no meetings based on your preferences.

  • Supported Platforms: Currently, Grain integrates directly with platforms such as: Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Webex.

2. Controlling Meeting Access and Sharing

After recording, you have full control over who can view and access your recordings.

  • Workspace Sharing: By default, recordings are accessible to users in your workspace. However, you can customize these settings to control visibility and sharing.

  • Granting Access to Specific People: You can make certain recordings available to specific people only. For more information, see our article on Limiting Access to Recordings.

  • Data Privacy: Grain is committed to maintaining your privacy and security. For details on our privacy protocols, refer to the Privacy and Security FAQ.

3. Creating and Sharing Clips

One of Grain's unique features is the ability to create clips from your recordings, allowing you to capture and share specific moments without sharing the entire meeting.

  • Clip Creation: During or after a meeting, you can mark key moments, which Grain will save as shareable clips. This makes it easy to share essential parts of your meetings without sending the full recording.
