Grain now lets you bring your meeting transcripts into AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT in a single click. You can also copy or download transcripts formatted for AI use. Here's how it works.
Where to find it
Open any recording and look in the top-right corner of the recording page header. You'll see the AI Transcript Actions control, which includes a primary action button and a dropdown with additional options.
What you can do
Open in Claude — Opens the transcript directly in Claude in a new tab, with a prefilled prompt so you can start working with it right away.
Open in ChatGPT — Same as above, but in ChatGPT.
Copy transcript for AI — Copies the transcript to your clipboard along with a metadata block (title, date, duration, participants) so you can paste it into any AI tool.
Download transcript for AI — Downloads the transcript as a Markdown (.md) file, formatted for use with AI tools. The filename follows the pattern YYYY-MM-DD_meeting-title.md for easy organization.
What's included in the transcript
Transcripts include more than just the conversation. Each one comes with:
Company and participant info
Past meeting context
Private notes from your Notepad
Recording title, date, and duration
This context helps AI tools give you more relevant, accurate responses.
Download links and expiration
When you download or open a transcript, Grain generates a secure, short-lived link tied to your account and that specific recording. These links expire after approximately 10 minutes. If a link expires before you use it, simply return to the recording page and generate a new one.
Setting a default action
You can save a preferred action so the primary button always does what you need:
Open any recording and click the dropdown in the AI Transcript Actions control.
Select your preferred action.
That action is saved as your default going forward.
Things to know
Opening in Claude or ChatGPT requires you to be logged into those services in your browser.
If the transcript isn't available yet for a recording, the action will be unavailable until it finishes generating.
Don't share download links publicly — they're tied to your account and expire quickly.
