Once you’ve synced your calendar with Grain, your Desktop App is your new best friend before and during your meetings. Located in the menu bar at the top of your screen, you can copy/paste your Zoom link or Meeting ID to automatically start recording your meetings.
Before the Meeting
When the Grain Desktop App is open, you can access it by clicking on the Grain icon in the menu bar at the top of your screen. If you can’t see the Grain icon, you need to launch the app to access it from the menu bar.
When you click on the Grain icon, you’ll see the Grain Desktop App where you can:
View all upcoming calls from your calendar(s).
Enter the Zoom link or Meeting ID to invite your Grain Recorder to join & record any unscheduled calls.
Toggle auto-recording on or off for scheduled meetings
Manage your Grain account settings.
During the Meeting
When the meeting starts, the Grain Recorder will automatically join the call (unless you specifically ask Grain not to join in your recording settings). Then, you can start using the Grain Desktop App to capture important moments in real time!
Create Highlights
Highlights are one of Grain’s most standout features. At the moment you sense relevant information being shared in your meeting, type a note or use a customized emoji instead.
Once you hit enter or click “Highlight,” that moment has been captured and becomes instantly shareable with whomever you like.
*Note: New users will not be able to use customized emojis reactions. Instead, you can use quick tags!*
Share Highlights
Click the link icon 🔗 to the right of the Highlight to copy the Highlight URL. Instant shareability. ✨
Invite others to create Highlights during your meeting
During the meeting, you can can invite others to create Highlights too. Just click on “+” and type their email, followed by hitting Enter, to invite them.
Delete Highlights
Delete individual Highlights by clicking on the Trash icon. The Highlight will also disappear from your Workspace.
Stop Recording
Stop the recording (not the meeting) by clicking on “Stop” anytime. Again, this will not end the meeting but the Grain Recorder will leave and recording will be stopped.
