Changing speaker names in the transcript is simple and allows you to maintain clarity in your meeting records. Follow the steps below to create, change, and manage speaker names effectively when dealing with unattributed uploaded recordings.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Navigate to the Meeting Page:
Open Grain and go to the meeting where you want to edit the transcript.
Select the Transcript Tab:
Click on the
Transcript
tab to view the full transcript of the meeting.
Click on the Participant's Name or Icon:
Update the Contact for the Speaker Label
From here you can either select a new existing contact from the list inside the pop up menu, or create a new contact, let's review how to do both of these:
Apply an Existing Contact:
Click on the speaker block you'd like to update. A pop-up menu will appear where you can search across your existing contacts in Grain. You can also search for a contact via the search bar at the top of the pop-up.
Once you find the contact you'd like to use, you can select your preferred application method:
Update all Speaker Blocks:
This option will apply the new name to every speaker block that matches that speaker in the transcript.Update the Speaker Block:
This option will apply the new name only to the current label you are editing.
Create a New Contact:
At the bottom of the pop-up menu you can select "Create new contact" to start the process of creating a new contact in Grain.
Fill in the required information such as the contact's name and email address and then press the green 'create' button.
3. You have now created the contact. Now you will be able to search for the contact and apply it to the speaker block like normal
These options give you the flexibility to create, manage, and correct speaker names efficiently, ensuring that your transcripts are accurate and easy to follow. Please note that updating speaker labels only works for recordings that were not generated with labels, such as uploaded recordings. This does not apply to bot recorded recordings.
