Notification settings let you choose which emails Grain sends you. Each person controls their own emails, so turning something off only changes what lands in your inbox.
Open your email settings
Your notification settings live under Account settings → Notifications.
Go to 'Account settings' and select 'Notifications'.
Click 'Email'.
The 'Email' card shows a short summary of the emails you have turned on, for example 'Enabled for personal meeting recaps, shared meeting recaps, comments and mentions, and product updates.'
Email notifications
'Email notifications' turns every email on this page on or off at once. Grain sends these emails to the address on your account, which shows under the toggle.
Note: If you're a workspace admin, account and billing emails still send when this toggle is off.
Meeting recaps
A meeting recap is an email with the summary and action items from a meeting. Grain sends it after the meeting finishes processing.
Your meetings
Meetings you were in: recaps of meetings you attended. This covers meetings recorded by you, a teammate, or someone outside your workspace.
Shared with you
Shared directly with you: recaps of meetings you weren't in that someone shared with you.
Shared with your teams: recaps of meetings shared with any team you belong to. The setting lists your teams by name.
Shared with your workspace: recaps of meetings shared with everyone in your workspace. In a large workspace, this can be a lot of email.
Note: 'Shared with your teams' and 'Shared with your workspace' only appear on Business and Enterprise plans.
Activity on your meetings
Comments and mentions: emails when someone comments on your meetings or @mentions you. See Comments for how comments work.

Product updates and tips: emails about new features, webinars, and occasional company news.
Recap emails for other participants
Your notification settings only change the emails you receive. Who gets a recap from meetings you record depends on 'Auto-share with participants' in your My Meetings settings.
Participants without a Grain account can stop or change these emails with the 'Manage email preferences' link at the bottom of any recap email.
FAQ
Why am I getting recap emails I didn't expect? Each recap comes from a meeting you attended or a meeting someone shared with you. Find the matching toggle under 'Meeting recaps' and turn it off.
Can an admin turn off recap emails for everyone in the workspace? No. Each person manages their own email notifications. Admins can control which recordings get shared with participants in Workspace settings → Meetings.
I don't have a Grain account. How do I stop recap emails? Click 'Manage email preferences' at the bottom of the recap email and update your preferences there.
Why don't I see 'Shared with your teams' or 'Shared with your workspace'? These options only appear on Business and Enterprise plans, where you share a workspace with teammates.
I turned off 'Email notifications'. Why did I still get an email from Grain? Workspace admins always receive account and billing emails, even with 'Email notifications' turned off.
