Grain's bot joins your Zoom meetings as a participant to record and generate AI notes. Once connected, recordings appear in your Grain library just like any other meeting.
Connect Zoom to Grain
Click ’Connect’
Complete the Zoom sign-in and authorization flow
Once connected, you will see Status ‘connected’ in the integration settings
Configure Zoom to allow recording
Grain's bot relies on Zoom’s recording settings to record your calls. This must be enabled in your Zoom account settings before Grain can record.
If you host Zoom meetings: you need to enable recording on your own account so Grain can record meetings you organize.
If others host the meetings you want to record: the host needs to enable recording on their Zoom account and grant recording permission to participants.
Enable Recording in Zoom
Go to Zoom Settings and open the ’Recording’ tab
Turn on ’Record to computer files’
Check the boxes for internal and/or external participants as needed under the ‘Who can request host permission to record?’ section
Auto-capture Zoom meetings
Once connected, Grain can automatically join and record your Zoom meetings based on your auto-capture rules. See auto-capture settings to configure which meeting types are automatically captured.
Record an unscheduled Zoom meeting
Alternatively, you can set capture on a per-meeting basis by using the recording dropdown on the upcoming meetings list of your ’Meetings’ page. See Meetings page for details.
To send the Grain bot to a Zoom meeting that is not on your calendar, click ‘+ New’ on the Meetings page, select ‘Bot recording’, paste the Zoom meeting link or ID, and click ‘Capture’. See Bot capture for full details.
Import recordings from Zoom Cloud
If you have existing recordings in Zoom Cloud, you can import them directly into Grain. See Import from Zoom Cloud for the full import flow.
Disconnect Zoom from Grain
To remove Grain's access to your Zoom account:
Go to Zoom’s App Marketplace
Click the three-dot menu next to Grain
Select ‘Remove’
